      2/ 1/03 Saturday
  Coverage of shuttle crash was until 2pm, for all 5 networks; but
  NBC kept coverage until 6pm, then after 6:30pm.  Pundits said
  the experts would be figuring the reason for the crash - the
  reason seems to be some bad heat resistant tiles under left wing.
  ABC added in some coversage of Iraq war conditions.

      2/ 2/03 Sunday
  Pundits are now figuring a good possibility for cause of shuttle,
  is something went wrong in the heat tiles of the left wing.  Arabs
  are said to be more worried about Israeli-Palestinian conflict
  than Iraq's threat to world security - are worried Iraq Gulf war
  II could cause problems in the arab countries.

  Still much news coverage of shuttle crash - left wing heat tiles
  is suspected cause.

      2/ 4/03 Tuesday
  Dow down to arnd 8,150; business pundits still say economy is on
  hold, unless Iraq war threat lessens.

  U.N. security council members did not seem unduly impressed with
  Powell's speech for Iraq war.  CBS said U.S. troops will be ready
  for war on Feb 18; Turkey has not voted on U.S. ground troops.

      2/ 6/03 Thursday
  NASA now believes debris from booster was possibly not cause of
  damage to tiles on left wing of downed shuttle.  Powell talked
  before Congress, of Iraq war.

      2/ 7/03 Friday
  War seems eminent for Iraq, anywhen after Feb 17th.  U.S. put on
  condition orange terrorism alert, up to end of next week.

      2/ 8/03 Saturday
  Due to heat tile problem, figure shuttles will be grounded for the
  rest of calendar year.  Iraq war still seems eminent.

      2/ 9/03 Sunday
  Bush people say they want new resolution from U.N.; Iraq says
  Powell's speech to U.N. was not the truth - based on fabrications.
  Bush is still quoted for Iraq to have "weeks, not months", to come
  completely clean.

      2/10/03 Monday
  Now, Bush people are seeming to not want new U.N. resolution - the
  old one is all is needed.  More area national guard units are being
  activated, tho are not being told where or when they will be sent.

      2/11/03 Tuesday
  Bush people are now said to be checking for possible new U.N.
  resolution, in favor of having Iraq, Gulf war II.  Perhaps war will
  not start until week after next.  Had figured: after Feb 18.

      2/12/03 Wednesday
  Dow has slipped down to around 7,750 - mostly due to war worries;
  most economic indicators are not very encouraging, tho many feel
  the market and economy will be improving, in the second half of
  the year.

      2/13/03 Thursday
  France, Germany, and Russia seem to all be against Iraq war.  More
  info is coming out on shuttle crash - e-msg concerning possible
  landing gear tire explosion to be the worst case scenario, was
  disclosed, from NASA official.

      2/14/03 Friday
  U.N. members did not seem to be for the Iraq war; U.S. and England
  are drafting a 2nd U.N. resolution, for the war effort.  Dow is up
  to arnd 7,900; some economic indicators are slightly up.

      2/15/03 Saturday
  Very many protests for Iraq war, around world - were in some 600
  cities.  Have not heard Bush people's response, but should be still
  for the war.  Now, war seems to be able to start around Feb 26-27.

      2/16/03 Sunday
  On TV talk talk shows, Bush people still seemed for the Iraq war.
  Some in newspaper on "patriot act II" - not known when the bill
  will be introduced into congress.

      2/17/03 Monday
  NATO problem is solved, concerning the protection of Turkey,
  during possible Iraq war; Turkey has, as yet, to definitely give
  approval of base for U.S. ground troops.

      2/18/03 Tuesday
  Bush and Blair are still working on a resolution for Iraq war, for
  U.N. approval; word varies, of when the war will begin -
  presently, some when between Mar 1st & Apr 15th.  Big in news has
  been `blizzard of 2003', along NE coast.

      2/19/03 Wednesday
  Bush & Blair are said to be heavily pushing for a speedy, new U.N.
  resolution, for Iraq war. Dow is 8,000.60 - pudits still say
  market will up-swing after war scare is over; then economy will
  improve faster than last year.

      2/20/03 Thursday
  Bush said it would even be good if the military were assembled and
  there were no war; but war seems immanent; current guess is will
  start before March 21st.

      2/21/03 Friday
  Turkey is holding off for allowing U.S. ground troops base; U.S.
  military thinks deal will go thru; most still believe there will
  be the war.  Pundits still say arnd March 15th for start of Iraq
  war.

      2/22/03 Saturday
  Turkey said was close to deal with U.S. on ground troops base; but
  there is big question of passing deal in Turkish parliment.  War
  still seems schedualed for March 15th.

      2/23/03 Sunday
  Much in news of Fri's fire in nightclub in R.I.; 2nd big nightclub
  tragity, last week.  Iraq war still seems to be on, for around the
  middle of next month.

      2/24/03 Monday
  More pundits are onto the March 15th theory of Iraq war start.
  Bush people say there is not much chance of there being no Iraq
  war.  U.S., England, Spain give resolution II, for U.N. to adopt,
  for Iraq's having broken U.N. rules of resolution I.

      2/25/03 Tuesday
  Pundits are wondering if France will veto U.N. resolution II; some
  wonder if the resolution will pass, even if not vetoed - needs 9
  of 15 votes, to pass.  Iraq has turned down dismantling their long
  range missiles.

      2/26/03 Wednesday
  Bush delivered speech to right wing think tank, at 6pm - was
  covered on ABC - more on war, etc.  Iraq seems to be preparing for
  war.  Dow is 7.808 - gasoline, natural gas costs are up.

      2/27/03 Thursday
  Word is, that Turkey parliment will vote on U.S. ground troops
  base, on Saturday.

      2/28/03 Friday
  Russia says will veto the U.S. resolution II, if need be, for
  world security - proposal still has not the 9 votes necessary to
  pass.  According to pundits & all known indications, the war will
  be, and will start around March 13th-15th.
