     12/ 1/02 Sunday 
  Christmas shopping, over weekend, was reported to be a good
  percentage more than last year's; indicates not a bad shopping
  season this year - will have to see.  Senator Kerry announced will
  be running for president in 2004.

     12/ 2/02 Monday 
  Bush says Iraq weapons inspections are not going well enough -
  weapons inspections are really doing ok.  Word is that shoppers
  have not been spending money on "large ticket items".

     12/ 3/02 Tuesday
  Iraq weapons inspectors inspected presidential palace - were
  greeted ok, found all to pass inspection.

     12/ 4/02 Wednesday
  Iraq says the list of weapons of mass destruction locations will be
  ready on Saturday.  United Airlines appears to be having to go into
  bankruptcy.

     12/ 5/02 Thursday
  Snow storm traveled to east coast and was much in the news.  Iraq
  weapons inspectors have a few days off, due to some muslim
  holidays.

     12/ 6/02 Friday 
  Pundits are wondering how Bush people will accept Iraq's weapon's
  location list; is said to be some 10,000 pages.  The build-up
  around Iraq, for US-Iraq war, is guessed to have a completion date
  somewhen in January.

     12/ 7/02 Saturday
  Iraq handed over weapons list.  The democratic candidate won the
  holdover election in Louisiana, for U.S. Senate seat.

     12/ 8/02 Sunday 
  Al Gore was on one of the morning news talk shows - was concerned
  about health care insurance; will announce if will run in '04,
  next month.

     12/ 9/02 Monday 
  Dow is down some - was down for last week, breaking an 8 week up
  streak; is still arnd 8,800.  Iraq says it does not have a nuclear
  weapons research unit, anymore.

     12/10/02 Tuesday 
  Bush has appointed people for secretary of treasury, economic
  advisor, and SEC chairperson.  All are ex-CEO's of companies.
  Pundits seem to see an inevitablity for the now, "defunct"
  U.S.-Iraq war, to not be so defunct and to actually happen.

     12/11/02 Wednesday
  There is still talk of Trent Locke's stupid statement of electing a
  segregrationist, in order to improve the country.  Bush says use of
  nuclear weapons, against rogue countries, is okay.

     12/12/02 Thursday
  For November, retail sales were down from last year; regular
  department stores were down the most.  Hopes are for not such bad
  news, for sales in December, for Christmas.

     12/13/02 Friday 
  There is still flack from Trent Locke's stupid statements during
  the Thurman birthday party.  Dow down for week - is arnd 8,450.

     12/14/02 Saturday
  They have put on some more weapons inspectors, for the U.N. team
  in Iraq.

     12/15/02 Sunday 
  The Trent Lott controversy is still in the news.

     12/16/02 Monday 
  Many say Lott will resign from head of Senate & one said Lott will
  not be head of Senate by the end of the week.  There is schedualed
  meeting of republicans for Jan 6th, to mull over the problem.

     12/17/02 Tuesday 
  Was some storm damage to homes, in area SW of Republic, MO.

     12/18/02 Wednesday
  Trent Locke saga goes on - most think Locke must go.  Bush gives
  official response to Iraq's list of weapons, tomorrow - more and
  more U.S. troops and supplies are being sent over to Iraq area; Bush
  has requested a working version of star wars missile defense to be
  instigated.

     12/19/02 Thursday
  Storm damage from Tue-Wed is still on the local news.

     12/20/02 Friday 
  Trent Lotte resigned position of majority leader of Senate, around
  11am, EST.  There were heavy rains in California.

     12/21/02 Saturday
  None is heard of Trent Lott - is in own home, not accepting
  reporters.

     12/22/02 Sunday 
  Fiske is said to be the one to be next Senate majority leader.  Dow
  Jones average is arnd 8,500.  Lott spoke, said was own mistake, but
  that there were some political enemies.

     12/23/02 Monday 
  Republican senators made conference telephone call to elect Fiske
  for majority leader.  Snow storm from N Texas, thru S Missouri, and
  moving E.  First white Christmas in Oklahoma City history; record
  broken for local snowfall for December.

     12/24/02 Tuesday 
  Word has been for last several days, that Christmas shopping sales
  will be lower than expected.

     12/25/02 Wednesday
  U.S. is to almost double troops in Persian Gulf area; will add some
  50,000 to the total presently there.

     12/26/02 Thursday
  Still reports of worst Christmas shopping season in 20-30 years.  Looks
  to be that the Dow will be down for the 3rd year in a row - not
  happened since the 30's.

     12/27/02 Friday 
  N Korea's nuclear reactor is in news - pundits figure it would not
  take long to produce material for nuclear bomb.  N Korea says they
  need the reactor to produce electrical power.

     12/28/02 Saturday
  Bush people are attempting to persuade Eastern countries to talk
  N Korea to not start up old nuclear reactor.  Rumsfield says U.S.
  can be at war on two fronts.

     12/29/02 Sunday 
  Powel says the nuclear problem in N Korea can be solved through
  ordinary diplomatic means.

     12/30/02 Monday 
  Still more in news of N Korea's nuclear reactor.

     12/31/02 Tuesday 
  Dow, Nasdaq were down for three years in row; not much new in news.
